Music is my Life
This is my official website, created for all of my fans to keep up with my musical happenings. I've been blessed to make my living doing what many dream of but few actually do — perform music to adoring audiences in the United States and the world. I'm honored that you're joining me.
I'll be working hard to keep the information on my site current, topical, and fun. So peruse at your leisure and check back often — you never know when something fun is going to pop up here for your music enjoyment!
I began playing the drums when I was 10 years old in grade school and that led to a music scholarship at Morris Brown College in my home town of Atlanta, Georgia.
I decided my life's work would be playing music and entertaining the night that my friend Pee Wee (Samuel Florence) and I were at a local night spot when the owner which we knew from playing there told us that James Brown was recording at Bill Lowry's Studio not far away. We went there right away, as fast as possible, we were huge James Brown fans and had already saw him live a couple of times. We met the whole band Bobby Bird and the Flames and hung out with those guys until the next morning, that was it!
I drummed for a few R & B bands for the next few years until The Naturals were formed in 1970 and I became a bass and baritone vocalist. I picked up the bass guitar in 1972 and it has changed my life forever.
